  Tom the bow of a Mark I PBR by his 50 Cal Machine Guns in 1966 and 39 years later still on the bow of a PBR by the forward gun mount

 

I arrived in country 6 May 1966 and was sent to Nha Be where I joined the only River Section in country at the time which was River Section 511. We did not have enough boats for our crews. We had to swop crews and head right back out. When we had  enough boats River Section 512 was born. I became part of River Section 512 and remained there for 18 months. Upon completion of my tour I had completed over 300 patrols of 68 resulted in combat.
